Exclamation Help please, need help in installing overlays.

OK I'm installing some overlays on a 1995 Z28 vert and one thing that is messing me up is the fact that the trip reset thing is in the way. I need to get it out of the way so I can install these overlays. I'm NOT going to pull the needles. How am I suppose to get this thing out?

I know that, but how the heck do you pull that off? It seems easier to pull off the trip reset and then put it back on.
