Help a noob with a shift **** question

Hello, everybody. I just bought a 94 Z28 this week, and I'm going to down to Houston to pick it up this weekend. You can imagine how excited I am going from a POS 91 Civic to a Camaro. Anyway, the shift **** on the car is not to my taste, and I want to get a new one (probably a Hurst T-Handle) Does anyone know the thread I need to get (it's the stock shifter). Thanks a lot for any responses

If its an auto i cant helo you, but if its a manual good luck. I had 4 different ***** sent from hurst, although they were the classic shift ball with the inlayed shift pattern. Each time Hurst swore to me it would be the right size. they were always too small. I know the leather wrapped one will work but GM wants like 99 bucks for it new and that not worth it. A buddy of mine got the shift ball and had to drill it out and re-tap it to make it fit on the stock shifter.

I don't know about Hurst, but the B&M ***** come with a universal kit that accomodates most sizes.

They have two styles of t-handles. You can see them on their website...

You can pretty much get them at any retail auto parts store. If they don't stock it, they can order it and you'll save the shipping charge...

Don't forget to order a new Pro 5.0 shifter and take the time to disable the CAGS, while you are at it!

This is all assuming you have a six-speed...If you don't, you can ignore all of this!

I was reading my original post again and I realized I didn't even specify which tranny I had. It's 6 speed. Yeah, I already found out about CAGS, that crap has got to go. I hadn't seen those B&M t-handles yet, they look tight. Thanks for the help
