Help Me get my Altenator Shiney

Ok i started polishing my altenator, so far i've only used a wire wheel to get all the mess off, and then i used a dremel with a polishing pad with mother's mag/alum polish. Here are a few pictures of what it looks like so far. If i was to use sandpaper could i make it better? I'm just wanting it a little bit more shinnier and not so grainy.

You definitely need to use sandpaper. The wirewheel is good for removing blemishes, but to get a good polish, you first need to sand the alternator down (the higher grit, the better - I use 600 grit sandpaper for all my polishing). Have you thought about just sending the alternator to a polishing shop?

A chromed kit is the way to go. Cannot remember the vendor I used. Hope I have it in my Favorites on my home computer. If so, I'll post it.

Here is the guy's email. I bought my kit back in 2003. Excellent chrome work!
His name is Tom Coker. Hope he's still in business.

Thanks! Now that it is not a dailey driver it's not too bad. A little Mother's and TLC and I'm good to go.
