Help...car got KEYED!!!

I cant even explain how sick I feel about this. Some A$%HO&e keyed my car...2 separate deep marks about 8 inches long each. Basically Im hoping someone can give me advice on tackling the repair myself first, before I go pay lots of $$ at a body shop. The car is black, maybe I could fill in the scratch with touch up then buff it or fine sand it? Any advice is appreciated...

Sorry bout your car, somebody keyed the word biitch into my sisters car, and she ended up having to get the door, and fenders repainted. Doesn't seem like touchup paint would look very good. I don't know though. Good luck

only thing that would look remotely okay is sanding it dow then using spray and re clear coating, but plan on having a body shop do it Hope you find that A$$ that did it

That totally blows.

The only way to remove the marks permanantly will be to get that section repainted entirely.
Any other way and you'll be able to tell - some other people might not, but you still will.

That is why they repainted the fenders too on my sis's car so you couldnt tell it had been repainted.

i work at a body shop. usually the rule of thumb is if you can feel the scratch with findernail it needs repainting. you can try and wetsand and wheel it out. good luck

This is kind of ghetto, but one thing I've had to do as a temporary fix before I take the car out is use colored wax to fill it in. I mean, of course this isn't going to fix it and it won't last after it rains but if your cleaning up your car anyway this will at least keep it from sticking out as much until you can afford to get it fixed.

Thanks for all the input guys...after staring at these disgusting scratches all day I realize im going to have to get it painted. Its the only right way to fix it. I already threw some ghetto colored wax on there to minimize my pain in the meantime.

To all car keyers....

I'd like to catch one of these dumbs *** keying anybodys car. I'd clothes-line him in a second then call a smokie.

There are always those with worse woes than you...
This is a true 35th SS... (Beware of POP-UPS! It's just an old free site...)

He posted on here quite a while back. It was gonna cost him something like $2000 just to get it back to normal - because he wanted the factory SS stripes, and understandably so. Good luck man - that has to suck something horrible...I can't imagine what you feel like.

Why do people have to be such ASSH0LES!!! That hood is so f*cked up. If that was my car I would kill someone. It was probably a mustang owner or a ricer that got beat in a race by tis dude.

That's just the worst feeling.... When I was 16 this F**K keyed my 57 cause I stole his chick. I haven't seen him since, but to this day (12 yrs later) I would still beat his *** if I found him.

Sucks everytime this happens to one of us. Problem is, you take so much pride in your ride that people know that's your weak point.
