Help!
I was wondering if any of you out there knew any tricks or tips on fixing some of the sqeaks and rattles in a 4th gen. t-top car. I'm trying to tighten up the car inside and out. Any tips are greatley appreciated.
thanks.

Unfortunately, these cars are known for such squeaks and rattles as they age. Also this is something all cars will eventually do. If you can be a bit more specific on the problem areas, a few suggestions may help you out a little bit.

I've never bothered to address any of them.
You might check and see if any of the mounting hardware (plastic screws) and such are broken or missing if you really want to tear into the car. Pretty much every single one is essential, otherwise GM wouldn't have put one there, because they could have saved a dollar.
I would probably be more tempted to use some foam tape (I believe used for sealing doors) and trying that rather than removing things and very likely ruining the 15 year old plastic hardware. I know in our Z28, the center cubby hole in front of the shifter squeaks a lot. I'm sure some foam tape in between something could help if I bothered to do it. I rarely drive it, so it doesn't bother me! LOL

Just curious, did installing subframe connectors help reduce your noise any?
I've been comtemplating spraying expanding spray foam behind some of the panels that make noise.

The rattle in the hatch area is 9 times out of 10 the jack on the passenger side jumping up and down on rough roads. You could probably wrap it in some foam or something if it really bothers you a lot!

If you have a nasty squeak coming from the back it will more than likely be the hatch latch in the back.I tried to find that thing for months and that thing drove me nuts.Just a little of high temp bearing grease in the latch mechinism itself fixed the problem. No more squeak.
