I took mi8ne to a local interior shop, and had it recovered. Since I'm using 5 point harnesses, I also had them cover the shoulder belt holes. They charged me $100 to do it.

I tried doing my own on my old '77 Camaro about 15 years ago, but I could never get it to work correctly with auto parts store spray glue.

You have to take the headliner board out of the car, strip off the old material and the foam that's under it. Make sure the surface is nice and clean and spray both the headliner board and material backing with glue and then lay it on there. It helps to stretch it a little bit so you end up with nice tight edges. Also, make sure you spend the money on the good spray glue because if you don't, it'll just fall down again in no time.

Expect to put in about a half a day worth of work if you've never done it before. A pro can do it in about an hour depending on how much stuff has to come out to get the headliner out of the car.

Edit: You can usually buy headliner material from any fabric store such as Hancock Fabrics. That's the chain we have around here, it might be different where you're from.

This is pretty much how I went about it on my old third-gen. It was much cheaper then taking it to a shop or buying a new aftermarket headliner.

I tried fixing mine but once I got it out of the car it was really thin and weak in some points. I ended up just buying a new replacement headliner. It's the way to go if your's is too far gone. Was $179.

Or for about 100 bucks, you can get an upholstery shop to recover yours to new or better than new condition. Pocket the other 80 bucks...

Man just re-do your headliner yourself. Its a piece of cake. Call around and find a fabric store and just buy the headliner material. It comes w/ the pad already glued to it.
Take your old headliner and strip off all of the old foam w/ a Brillo pad(be careful). Get some adhesive (I used spray) and just take your time and work it in the grooves. It cost me $10 for the fabric and $14 for the spray adhesive....and it turned out better than I expected...and this was my first attempt.
Try it...worst case your out about $25....unless your headliner is just falling apart.
Here check it before and after photos:

Good luck and take your time...its more gratifying to do this kinda stuff yourself IMHO....plus now you know how to do it.

They make an ABS replacement too, so you never have to worry about it falling or tearing again.
