I just did the 9005/9006 Silverstar headlight change and I like it. Def worth the $$$. I paid $40 for the pair plus there is a $10 mail in rebate. So it actually turns out cheaper than buying new stock halogen units.

You just unscrew two torx screws and the holder comes off. Pull the lamp out to expose the connection...disconnect. If you do the Silverstars you'll have to remove the halogen bulbs out of the headlight then replace with the Silverstars and seal them. There is a good link that has step-by-step that I went by.

I took some pics of the Silverstars next to the stock hi-beams...the change is worth it.

You can get 9005/9006 bulbs up to 100w (actual wattage)

Nokya, FX, Showoff, Hella all make some. If you get a tinted bulb, try and stay 5000k or less (color temp). Most believe that 4300k is ideal, althought a UNTINTED bulb will give you better illumination.

Listen to what this man says...I did the FF75 conversion right before I got deployed and used blue bulbs...I'm going to be ordering clear ones as soon as I get home...blue bulbs suck.

Yes, the 80w 9006 and 100w 9005 will. Or you could go with 130w lows and 130w highs, if you have a heavy duty wiring harness. But you will need some clear high temp silicone to re-mount the bulbs and about 1 day to let them dry.

With 80w low beams ? Yes. However, you will be better off with a heavy duty harness. It will give you 14v-16v vs. 12v-14v

Thanks man!

Actually, I dug out the little plastic-box they came in...it says "Stage II 7000k". Still Nokya Arctic White...I didn't notice it when I bought them though.

I might try to pick up some of the 4300k Nokya though just to see the difference. I have some pics, I'll have to host them sometime. BTW, I used one Sylvania housing and one Guide housing and they are projecting differently. I have some pics of it. Kinda weird...

You can upload the pics here if you want:

And when I first started my headlight conversions (way back on my V6) I do remember the replacement housings projecting different as well...
