Hatchback pannel

I took the hatchback pannel off my 93 z28 the other day so I could take my fin off my car. It pulled off pretty easy and there are a bunch of white plastic press pin things that are stuck to the inside of the hatchback. Now I can't get the pannel back on. any suggestions?

Just make sure all those push tabs are sitting straight in their slots. You should be able to get it back in there. I've had mine in and out many times.

did you pull them back out of the trunk lid and put them in the plastic panel first?

You'll probably break them, they are practically one-time use pieces if they are anything like the ones on my old Corolla.

Advanced Auto Parts here has them on the shelf. You could possibly find them at Lowes or Home Depot as well, as they stock fasteners like that also. The PPG Paint Store here, who is also a 3M dealer, carries the greatest assortment of these parts (as will most crash parts or paint stores) so that's where you'd be most likely to find an exact match. Though prices will be higher at a place like that, you're still not looking at huge money to replace them.

Your best bet is to pull one out, even if you break it, and take it in for comparison and find one that you can make work if you can't find the exact pin.

You just pull them out. They'll look similar to this:

Although new ones will always work better, you can reuse them.

Panel poppers make it easy to pull them out.

Yep, those are the things I was referring to. Kind of one-time use things, but you can reuse them if you carefully get them out.
