Has anyone shaved their door handles without them cracking.

I paid to have my door handles shaved during august of last year and they cracked shortly after. The guy who did it used 3M panel bonding and fiberglass with a little bondo to cover them. THe passender side door is cracked all the way around where the handle used to be and the drivers' side is starting to crack. The guy offered to redo it but I think it will do the same thing. ANyone have any ideas or a custom body shop near ohio to to do it. I know not every shaved fbody has cracked handles.

I have the adjustable door poppers and I havent even installed them yet. I installed new door seals and the door pops out about 3 inch already. Im sure Ill have to install them eventually but it works great right now. I hope I can find a body shop that has a solution for this. It is a composite fiberglass so its hard ot get anything to bond to it. I had someone give me an interesting idea. Take the old door skin off and make a mold of it using that yellow sealer stuff> You can buy it ayt hardware stores, I think its called "Great Stuff" but anyway it says it is great for making molds and it hardeneds reall good. After I make a mold, I would have to smooth it out then lay fiberglass and make a one piece door. THis would take time and effort but would be relatively inexpensive. Let me know is you see any problems because I may just try to do that.

I think that would be the best way to go. Some people on here have spent some money on trying to fix the cracking but it always comes back. The mold would be the best idea, but it sounds expensive. Good luck with it though.
