Halo headlights??

I really dont know how the "halo" eye would illuminate since there really arent any provisions with the stock headlight to give it a power supply.

I was thinking of getting a set but i just dont want to get into a rats nest of wireing. I just dont know how the halo eye would light up since there arent any stock provisions for it?

just use two wire taps for each light. attach the halo wires to the parking lights with the wire taps and bingo, light. 2 pieces of advice when buying these lights off ebay:
1. have some 3m automotive double sided tape. the weatherstripping on the lights has a tendency to come off. the 3m stuff easily solved the problem.
2. also, remove the new mounting harnesses from your new lights, and put the factory harnesses off your original headlights so they line up right and can be aimed properly. If you don't do this, you probably will never be able to get them aimed correctly. Its pretty easy, just a few screws. After installing the harnesses and the halo lights and connecting the wires, take it to a body shop and ask them to align the lights. Its worth it and only like $25 bucks.
This is the stuff I had to do for my halo lights, and I'm very happy with them.
Re: Halo headlights??
i am not too savy with electrical work so i will just have my mechanic install them i guess. So you just tapped them into the parking lights wireing? I just ordered some so i hope it turns out for the best. For those of you who have them was the install easy? Will they still light up if you wire them to the DRL? I know that when they switch to headlights that the DRLS go off and it switches to the outer parking light is that where you wired them? I just want to make sure i tap them in the correct place.
Re: Halo headlights??
just use the wire taps to the parking lights, its easy. 1-2 minutes tops. no cutting, no soldering, no complications. Just slide the wires into the taps, and clamp it all the way down, and your done. Don't have a mechanic do it. It is so easy, my fiance could do it.
Re: Halo headlights??
The only complications here would be alignment afterwards. Here's a solution i just came up with because i'm smart at night.
Get a fairly large piece of plywood, or just the wall of your garage will work. Shine your lights at it, and mark the outline with masking or duct tape, or marker if you don't mind messing your template up. After installation, adjust until they're inside the marks again. Cheaper than $25 right?

I bought some of the 14-18 guage of "connectors" this is what happened. I bought a pack of connectors they are a square plastic piece with slots for 2 wires which are side by side and then you can crimp them together by pressing a large metal tab on the top with pliers. Ok so i do this and guess what?
I BLOW my headlight bulb. I dont understand how that happened.
Did you use something different? I know you connect them to the parking lights but i just cant figure why i smoked then burnt out my headlight bulb when i tested to see if the halo eye part worked.
Re: Halo headlights??
ok here is what i did and my headlights still burn
I attached the positive line to the positive wire for the parking light via splice tap, i did the same thing for the negative line. I added end caps to the positive and negative lines of the headlight since they were exposed and when useing a splice you arent supposed to have exposed ends.
So after that i make sure they are firmly attached use pliers to crimp down on the metal tab that will go through both the wires to insure a connection.
Crimp the end cap nice and tight.
Then i turn on my headlights to see if the LED lights up and NOTHING!
Then i look at my light bulb a hyperwhite bulb and its cooking. The blue coating that was on the inside is all charring away and smokeing is comeing from the light bulb. I quickly shut it off. I tried this 3 times with 3 different sizes of wire taps and i keep getting the same effect.
Next step is to solder these puppies and see if that does anything. Whats your guys take on this?

Yeah well, i seem to be blowing headlights for no reason.
I have all the wires connected properly using the tap splices. The only thing i didnt do was solder it which i am gunna prob do by the end of the week. I just dont get why the light bulbs are burning. When you connected them did you use wire taps or solder it down?
