Grant Steering wheel installation

Im wanting to buy the grant steering wheel #1434. My z28 has the airbag in the wheel but i dont want it there. It dont work due to the SRS light on and i recently hit a deer, didnt do too much damage but Im sure glad the airbag didnt blow out in the inside.

All the steering stuuf is the same except for the airbag right? so i could install this and just cut all the wires to the air bag? or is it totally different and best not to screw with it?

Assuming you have a 94, you can remove the airbag with no problems and no wire cutting. After you remove it, and the spring coil that connects the wires, the old wheel pulls of the column and the new one bolts on. The wiring disconnect at a yellow connector at the base of the steerring column, and the wire can be pulled out of the column.

Do not attempt to do anything with the airbag until you have removed battery power for at least 20 minutes, to allow the reserve power to bleed off of the DERM module.

You will need the Grant install kit for a 3rd Gen F-Body
