Post Got a price quote on getting my leather seats redone.

A friend of mine owns his own seating business. It is a small company. I haven't seen him in a few years but today I happened to run into him at a gas station and we started talking.

After catching up on things, I had him come over to my car and I showed him my seats (side bolsters have the usual wear, but the leather isn't worn through yet) and I asked him what he would charge me to recover them. I told him I wanted charcoal and red leather (my seats are charcoal leather now) I want the center section red, and the rest ofcourse charcoal, front and rear. He quoted me at or under $500 for the set and he could do it in a weekend. Does this price seem reasonable? He said that was with little to no profit for his company and only because it was for me. Keep in mind, this is a somewhat custom request. I think it is a good price myself.

Seems like a really good deal. Having leather re-done is very expensive, that's why most people just buy new seats.
