Got hit
Well i went to bestbuy today and when i came out i noticed i got readended (rear passenger side bumper) and the bad part was it was a hit and run. It isnt bad or anything no dents no major scartches or anyhting just a spot thats a lil bigger then a quarter where then guy hit me and the paint is flaking/peeling off. So instead of taking it to a body shop and get ripped off. Does anyone have any idea on how i can fix it myself and make it as a weekend project? Any help is greatly appreciated. So please let me know.
If it's your pride and joy like mine is take it to a body shop! if u can live with a good job rather than a great job there are guy's that repaint bumpers for car dealers and do tuch up work for them, I have seen the work in person it's a good job they do it outside so sometimes there is small particles of dust in it after the clear go's on but this can be wet sanded out and polished if u know how to do it, then would look almost great for around 150.00 . But i would go with a body shop for a perfect mach that's just me ps. u need to paint 3/4 of the bumper to blend it all together so u dont see what was fixed good luck
did the bumper get pushed in at all...if so u can have it repainted but year down road paint will spider... once that bumper flexes its shot.... happened to my front bumper...just keeps spydering
I would remove the bumper cover and chemicaly strip it. Then apply flexable parts primer and THEN take it to a body shop for painting. Check first with the body shop to see what brand of primer to use.
if the car isnt worth more than your left nut, dont pay 2xx to have the bumper repaird.
tape off the affected area and grab some primer grab some good matching paint and shoot it. then wet sand with 2000 or higher untill its as even as possible. then buff it !!!!!
thats a 20$ fix that will probly last a good while if you prep it right, use wax and grease remover (not dish soap
) then primer, then paint. allow 1 hour between coats. do it indoors.
or goto a shop

you don't have comprehensive coverage??? it should be covered under that...
when mine got a small scratch on the quarter panel (no dents, just some paint scratched off) i took it to a body shop, got a $900 quote, and my ins. cut me a check for $800 ($900 - $100 deductible)
