GM Mud Flaps? Anybody used them?

Don't laugh! I do a fair amount of highway driving and would like to keep my paint as chip free as possible. I noticed GM sells contoured mud flaps for the F-body in their Accessory catalog (2002). Has anybody tried a set of these? Comments or suggestions welcome!

I got my car used...and it had them. I'll tell you right now...don't do it.

They look like crap, kill the lines of the car and are just plain ugly as hell.

I have some mud flaps on my car that I got from a local parts store. They look fine to me. The front pair have "Chevrolet" in reflective lettering and the back set have "Camaro" in reflective lettering. Just don't get a one that have Yosemite Sam holding his two 6 shootings saying "Back Off" It is all personal preference. Buy a set; tape them on and look at it. If you don't like it, take them back with no harm done.

I've seen them once on a silver Camaro. It looks alright. If you've ever seen the countoured mudflap on an Accord...looks very similar to that

until I moved out of the trailer park.....

J/k but seriously I have seen stick on paint protector things for the corvette. They go right where the mudflap would go and they are clear. After a few months they get kinda dirty and you replace them.

You can get away with using them on 1 2 and 3 gens but absolutely not on 4th gens. 4th gen styling is just too modern for mudflaps of any kind.
