gauge question
gauge question
No need for the useless harness. It does the same thing as splicing into the wire, just more cleanly. What you need to do it track your front passenger oxygen sensor as the wires go up to the PCM. They come through the wire loom that has some other wires like from the starter. You need to tap into the small violet wire. If your car is the same, which I'm sure it is, the violet wire is the high signal wire and is the one to be tapped into. There is a large violet wire in that loom too, don't use this one becase it comes from the starter.
There is no sensor for the A/F gauge, the gauge itself is the sensor, not like the temp gauges. Depending on what gauge you got, there should be three wires; gauge power, gauge ground, and signal. This is how my gauge is like(Autometer carbon fibre ultra-lite). On the Cobalt and C2 there are extra wires for lights. On mine, the violet wire on the gauge was the signal and should be tapped into the violet from the oxy sensor, violet to violet, makes sense. Your directions will tell you which wire on the gauge is the signal wire.
