front seats in teh back?

anyone ever try bolting on front seats in place of the rear seats? I'm putting in some race seats soon and was thinking of giving it a try- putting my stock front seats in place of the rears...

Why? IMO it would look rediculous. Would be a hassle to rig up something to mount them too.

There was a pic going around of a convertable that had corvette front seats in both the rear and the front. I think it was on NEDyno's site.

Eventually I'll put fixed Sparcos that match my Torinos in front in place of my back seats. I don't think the stock seats would look good in the rear, though. My guess is that they're too wide to anyway.

If you're putting racing seats in the car, my guess is you're doing it to save weight and for the looks. Don't add the weight back in by trying to put the fronts in the rear. Kind of defeats the purpose IMO.

You would have to be 6'10" to see over the top of the back seats is what he means.

I wasn't thinking when I made that post. What I thought you meant was that you were removing the front seat, sticking a racing seat where the rear seat is and are going to drive like that. My way puts a whole new meaning into back seat driver.

Re: front seats in teh back?

you would also lose the ability to fold the rear seats down for storage as fronts would not do this.
