Front Bumper Swap
Front Bumper Swap
I have an 02 Formula and have decided I would like to swap the front bumper for a Trans Am front bumper. I purchased a T/A bumper and have the parking lights on order.
First item: My research seems to indicate that the both the T/A and the Formula use the same fog lights so I am planning on using my existing lights. Is this true? Am I right on this matter?
Second Item: If the lights are the same, how are they attached on the T/A? Looking at the T/A bumper you can see how the parking lights will attach as there are mounting holes in the supporting structure. However, the holes where the fog lights go are just smooth tapering cylinders - there are no holes. How do they mount?
Third Item: I've done a little more research and it seems that the foam piece that sits behind the bumper may be different between the two cars. The Formula piece does not seem to have enough clearance for the fog light housing of the bumper. Maybe the T/A foam is cut out in this area and the fog lights actually mount to a metal piece that is behind my current foam piece? I am going to remove my foam part to examine the area today. Do I need a new foam compression piece?
Thanks for any input on this subject.
