Here's a pic of my antenna shaved. I just think it cleans up the rear of the car without it. Street Rod antenna under the plastic panel by the windshield provides reception.

Just for info guys. Standard antennas are cut at 31 inches. This is the ideal for best overall FM reception. If you live in the middle of a city with lots of high power radio stations a piece of coat hanger will pick up the signals. Get to traveling on the road alot and the standard length will do you the best. Trick is I guess if it works and it looks good to you then great.
