Talking Flamethrower pics

Hey guys, first time posting with my new name. A few people have asked questions about flamethrowers on here so I figured they might want to know a little bit about it. I got a kit from www.hotrodsetc.com, it has everything you'll need except spark plugs, coils and wires. There is a lot more to it than just putting a spark plug in the exhaust, you won't get flames that way. In the kit it has spark plug bungs, a momentary switch, connectors, and an electronic box. I had the plugs welded in my tips about 7 inches from the end pointing up so you can't see them unless you get under the car, next I drilled a hole into the trunk and ran the spark plug wires in there(i just got the longest ones they had at autozone) Then mounted two coils and connected them to the box. Then you splice into the coil and the switch, so now when you hit the switch it cuts the engine and the plugs in the exhaust spark. This is how you get good flames, you can do it driving or parked, the engine just needs to be warm and a lot of rpms. If you don't do it correctly it backfires very lloudly and I have blown to header gaskets like this(thanks to the longtubes it only takes an hour to replace them) ANYWAY sorry for the long post, here are some pics, go to flamethrower the other pics aren't mine.
And please no rice comments, this is old as the hot rod itself and great for intimidation and losing tailgaters

size does matter

You can't tell to well from the pics I guess, but they shoot out a good 3 or 4 feet at night. In the day its harder to see them but when I do it in the daytime I can see the heatwaves in the rearview mirror, very cool.

update

I guess the website is down right now, that is the correct address and it won't work on my computer either. There are a lot more pics on that website. And like I said the other pics in there aren't mine, although he is on this board, I just needed somewhere to host the pictures since I'm lazy.

ill put some pics of mine up got the same kit, if anyone does this...extend your exhaust tips about 2 inches do yourself the favor, the bumper is only plastic...the fire bursts could span from 1ft-20ft depending on how much you know about setting it up

"The flamethrower kit is not for use in vehicles with catalytic converter, electronic fuel injection or emmision controls."

Guess that rules that one out...

Even the other set (the first one says "NOTE: Spit-Fire can not garantee the kit will work on electronic fuel injection. or cars with a cat. converter.. " but it's obvious by the Camaro pics that it will work. I guess it just depends on the setup...

Flames are SWEET! wait a sec...

HOW RICEY IS THAT! MAN THAT IS SO RICE!!!
Sorry beast, just had too.

They only say that it wont work on cars with Cats or EFI systems because the cats take up a good amount of the excess gases the engine doesnt burn up.....there is still pleanty to be burned off though in a flame. and as far as the EFI, its only because EFI systems use only the minimum required amount of gas for fuel economy purposes, as for a carb, well.....use as much as u wanna there will still be a pretty good size flame though trust me i still have my cats and the original EFI setup no extra pumps or management systems an it works great

It works

Like 94BlackBowtie you can see from the pictures that it works fine, but let me mention that I have no egr, air pump or cats, plus I bought a cheap Flo-pro muffler when I first got the car, that has conveniently blown out. The reason you can't have a catalytic convertor is that when you hit the button it stalls the motor sending all the raw gas through your exhaust, a cat would obviously stop this.

And since I have custom exhaust the tips already stick out, but my bumper is so faded it doesn't really make a difference to me.

Pt, I researched for a while and all the kits are about the same thing, the one I got is just a lot cheaper, great customer support as well.
