I'm trying to find the right paint for my ground effects and the code in the glove box has the code 8774. It came up as Flame Red. I thought '94 z's only red colors were Medium Patriot Red and Bright Red. Am I confused??

 

Only two reds....Patriot Red and Bright Red. The Patriot red is the darker one, Bright Red is ....well....brighter.

 

My car is Flame Red. .......and that's by the code and the color match thing they use at a paint store. :blah: lemme go see if mine has the same paint code......I'm not sure what it is anymore


EDIT: yup mine is 8774 to.

Here's a pic of the can of paint that I used when I painted my hood, it shows the paint color and code, but for some reason it says "Matched to 1985 Corvette" ......so you're not confused.

So what does that mean if my paint code doesnt match a color made in that year? Was it special ordered?

 

It might be Bright Red because if you look at the code on the picture of the can I posted it say 81/8874 and >>HERE<< it says the paint code for Bright Red for '94 Camaros is 81. That's all I can come up with. Maybe Bright Red and Flame Red are really close in color.

 

Medium Patriot Red Metallic is actually MAROON IMO and not anything close to red so if your car is "red" it definitely isn't patriot red
