Has anyone had fitment issues with any of the aftermarket '98-'02 SS spoilers?

What's up FacelessZ. I have one from Wings West and it doesn't sit flush with the rest of the hatch. I posted a thread a couple months ago asking the same question. The body shop that I took it to said that was the best they could do but I think they're full of sh*t. I'm actually gonna see if I can make some adjustments myself by removing the interior trim of the hatch. If I can't get it to work I'm gonna take it back to the shop; I gotta get the front bumper touched up a little bit anyway. Might as well kill two birds with one stone. BTW, do you have one already or are you thinking of buying one? Some guys seem to luck out with the spoiler were as others like myself have or had problems. Good luck.

I bought mine off of ebay too. I think it was $299 + free shipping. Are you gonna install it yourself or are you gonna have a shop do it? Keep me posted and let me know how it turns out. Later.

 

I've got the WW ss spoiler and it fits for shi*. It doesn't sit flat against the deck.

 

I have the ASCD 98-02 SS spoiler and it fits very well the right corner is just a tad to low (you will not notice) other than that all fits perfect.

I have the WW spoiler. It isn't perfect, but my hatch doesn't sit right either. Irt need adjustment. The main problem with the spoiler is the whole thing sits a little too hgh. This I have heard is a common problem and you have to sand the mounting surface on the hatch to level it. Other than that, the fit is pretty good.

 

Yeah the 98-02 WW spoiler has slight fitment issues. I'm going to be trimming the mounts on the spoiler down. I think that will be the easiest way. Also, when tightening it down, you can't do one side and then the other, it won't sit right... you have to do both sides at the same time.

 

Why screw with the crappy aftermarket stuff? Just order the parts made from the SMC material in lieu of fiberglass from gmrestorationparts.com.

 

ASCD IS PURE CRAP!!!!

I hate it... After painted its not smooth.. it wont fit correctly either... and because of it I had an accident that damaged my front bumper and the all so crappy ASCD hood... why? because it said CORRECT 3rd BRAKE LIGHT and when I put it.. ABS inop.. the very first time out of the shop.. hit the brakes... lock up.. bam!!!! 15mph against another car...

Dont buy aftermarket.. always buy GM.. ended up buying an OEM SS hood and will buy an OEM SS spoiler later on.
