I had a spray booth rented for the 13th and the shop called on the 12th and told me that they were swamped and couldnt let me use the booth untill they got caught up. Im scheduled for the 19 of oct. Ive talked to the painter there and hes going to help me spray the clear and do all the color sanding. so after buying the paint, and renting the booth and paying the painter for his help i will have about a $6k job for less than 1200 bucks.

The only thing that i ahve to say, is watch out for driveways and parking lots, especially the little yellow cement blocks, u'll rip up that front end before u know it and it'll look ****ty... but otherwise, i plan on doing most the stuff ur doing, dont know about the molding of the bumper to the quarters though, b/c 1 little accident and its all gotta come off.

dud with 11 post do you think its a good idea to flame the established members. and i think the blown and juiced 383 makes up for any rice this car may have. Also dont troll post if you dont have anything constructive to say then dont post at all.
Has anyone noticed that the only people who are flaming me have less than 20 post and are new? I vote that we have a noob probation period of 200 post and if 1 of there post is in anyway dissrespectful, stupid, gay, ect then they get a automatic ip ban.

I said I respect your hard work, but I would never do it to mine. It is unique, and to each their own. Atleast you take care of your car unlike most people on this planet.

Your thread answered a few things I was wondering about on my body mods. I am smoothing that body line out as well but am reusing the stock bumper covers and wasn't really sure just how to reinforce the seams at the fender to bumper and quarters to bumper. I've been working on mine for the past 2 years here and there when time permits. I read some of you other write ups and found them very useful, body work is somewhat new to me but like anything else the more research one does the more informed and the better things can turn out. Kudos on all the mods, I bet it will turn out great.

First time ive seen this thread, first off all hats off to ya man! great job!
i have been working on bodywork my whole life (thanks to my old man running his own body+repair shop) and have thought of doing something simmlear to my 3rd gen firebird, it just sitting w/ a fresh 383 and 4 sp.

and a note to most of the flamers on here,
if you dont know what your talking abought dont talk, like to see you do some of this body work and mods, or would you just scratch your head and say how much hardener do i use or, better yet whats tiger hair?

The car is still sitting in the garage wating on paint. i have been real busey lately and its on the back burner untill the first of the year. I still have a few things to finish like the c5 taillights, final fab of the turnsignals, pull engine for bay to be smothed and painted im working on fiberglassing the interrior panels. The longer it sits the more things i decide i want to do to it. But remember paitence is a virtue. It will be finished by spring and will be ready for the summer show circut.
