Re: Finally got a new paint job!

Thanks! I swapped the entire interior out (while still using it as a daily driver). It was gray and now all black with leather seats and vinyl door panels. Its a great car. It's got a black leather trans am steering wheel, I put 6.5" speakers in the kick panels, DVD player is at my house right now and will be installed this weekend, keyless entry, remote start, remote trunk pop, proximity sensor, alarm, the works, I LOVE this car. And I just bid on a 70's camaro with a 350 for all of my racing needs!

i work at body shop and the normal time to wait before you use a silicone wax is 30 days. the paint is breathing for a month and letting all the solvents out.

Wait a little more than 30 days, seeing how you did it yourself and you had no way to bake it at all. When it comes to buffing it you can do this now, but be careful about cutting to far into the clear and burning the paint. The high spot where your clear coat got built up can be fixed easily. Get some Hook it 1000 from 3M and run it on your DA, then polish. You'll love the results.
