Finally got a new paint job!

I've been driving a mismatched firebird for too long. I painted it GM Red Hot with Dupont paint and a great clear coat. It looks absolutely amazing. It was my first time doing bondo work and first time painting and I must say it came out great. 1 paint drip and 1 spot where the clear coat went on a bit thick, but for $340 I got a great deal on paint and labor was free. Anyway, my questions are:
1) How long until I buff it/ what materials do I need when buffing?
2) How long until I can wax it?

Thanks, I promise pics once the sun comes up and I can put all the trim pieces back on!

I'd wait longer than that to completely let the paint dry.

It been pooring so I couldn't get pictures yet. The sidemarkers are blacked out now, they look awesome. I want to put red neons on it, but I'm afraid of the rice label, especially on an older american sports car.

All body work was done by myself. The front bumper was totalled by a dog. The antenna was shaved. The rear quarter panel was damaged before I bought the car and I repaired it. The rear bumper was white before. I blacked out my front sidemarkers. There was rust on the other side under the ground effects and it was all taken care of. New rubber weather stripping is being installed once I get some good adhesive. All black plastic parts were repainted to go with the brand new glossy paint. Its actually Dupont Red Hot. The color is absolutely gorgeous in person!!! And just for reference, my louver is being repaired so it's not on the car.

Re: Finally got a new paint job!

Also, I removed the badges on the fender. They were gray and looked hideous. I'm getting a silver and black firebird airbrushed (not a sticker) on my hood. Then I am getting a firebird for my front bumper and sail panels (between side windows and rear window). Sequential taillights are on the way, I ordered some more chips to do it right. I'm going to have 9 brake light bulbs (4 per side, then one for the 3rd brake light).

Re: Finally got a new paint job!

Try copying and pasting it. The link works for me and my server isn't down.

I'm looking to get some Iroc 5 spoke rims, but I'm not sure because I really like the american racing rims. I'm saving money to finish paying for my camaro.

Thanks guys. Ill post pics of the interior once I install my DVD player.

Looks good!

General time i've heard from body shops is 30-60 days before waxing depending on sun exposure, if it's parked outside in the sun all day then more towards the 30 days.
