That looks damn good. I bet the glare will be hell though. I want one!
Id be afraid of scratching it or something with the install, or careless passengers.

$300 shipped to your door??!? Whoa talk about an insult to work...Page one stated I had $200 in materials involved, PLUS 60 hours of labor, even if you broke the $300 down to 60 labor hours, that's totalling a whopping $5.00 an hour....I'd like to see you ask someone to do the same for $300, So once you take $200 for materials that leaves $100 for LABOR and return shipping?!?! You wouldn't work at Burger King for $100 for 60 hrs would ya? That's a fraction of the effort this work takes....Thanks for the low end quote to judge things from though...

lol, sorry thought you said u had $20 not 200 but i was thinking it wouldn't take you 60 hours to do something you know how to do, plus the number 1 reason i said it is i am CHEAP, lol...If i did have the money though I would pay around $750 for it....still probably not what you'd want though
Re: Fiberglassed Dash Complete!!! Pics...
$750 is fine....It would still take close to 60 hrs, because you want to make sure all pins holes in the filler are filled, as well as sanding prep work takes 80-90% of the time up in a job like this, I sanded from 80, 180, 220, and 320, on all resin, filler, and glaze layers, then again after 3 coats of high build, and once more after a final coat of high build getting it all to lay flat, as well at time being ate up by the materials curing....

Ok, so I started some experimentation with this this weekend, and I don't see why you can't just sand the actual plastic parts down then prime with flexible primer then paint, like you would a plastic car bumper, as an example. The only places you would need to fiberglass would be the vinyl stuff-the airbag. Am I missing something here, is that how you did it, or did you resin everything?? It seems to be more work if you resin everything, is there any reason if you did resin it all to do that??
Thanks!

I used Fiberglass Resin Jelly on the whole thing, then filler, and the glazing compound to fill in the lil pin holes. I never said you couldn't do plastic that way, you will need a High Build Primer for ti to fill in the imperfections, I recommed DuraTec cuz it's flexible, and known for it's levelling properties...The TA dash is vinyl hince why I did it this way

I'm no professional OBVIOUSLY
but I wouldn't recommend just smoothing out the plastic. The plastic is already thin and kind of cheap, it would probably be more luxurious if you just covered it with resin and such. Plus, what if you smoothed it out and you had somebody in your backseat, and they accidently put their elbow through the thin plastic? That would suck!
