Fiberglass Vs. Metal

I am wanting a SS hood for my Z, but I cant decide if I should get fiberglass or metal. I know there is a huge price difference between the two, but that aside, which should I get? I have heard of problems with fiberglass hoods, but I have also heard good things. I was hoping some of you could shed some light on the subject to help me decide and maybe put my mind at ease about buying fiberglass.
Thanks.

You can get the OEM SS hood for your car since it's the LS1 model.I wish I could've had that chance,I'd have been all over it.

if price wasn't a concern I'd go for a oem "ss" hood. Because in fiberglass it's almost rarely a perfect hood. Even on my hood there's a little bubble to it.

maybe you guys dont realize that oem ss hoods are made from fiberglass, granted oem is the way to go for body parts but thats still not a given on to the fit, i had to change front end parts on my 01 ss and 96 z useing oem parts and they didnt fit right

Still not as often do you hear of someone with an OEM productfitting worse than aftermarket.I'd go OEM today if I could get a 96/97 SS vin number to use for ordering purposes.

Actually it's a fiberglass reinforced thermoplastic not fiberglass in the traditional sense.
