F-bodies with light bars...

I'm a firefighter, and I've decided to (possibly) put a light/siren on my trans am. I am curious if anybody else on here has a light on there f-body. I'm worried that it might make the car look ridiculous, but hey, atleast I'll be able to go fast (or as michigan law says, a "reasonable" speed). I've tried looking all over the web, and I can't find any pictures of f-bodies with a light bar.

You could always just get a dash mounted light or one of those magentic roof lights that plug into the lighter. www.Galls.com has a nice selection of lights to choose from. If you want to spend a few more bucks, you can get LED's lights.

Halogen

LED

And or, you could turn your headlights and taillights into flashers.

Halogen mini-light bars

Or, you could just put a mini-light bar on your dash, god knows you have the room for one, lol.

LED's in the grills, that's pretty creative.

Re: F-bodies with light bars...

Thanks for all the help everybody! The reason I'm not just using something on the front of the car is because the light has to be on the top of the car and seen from 360 degrees. I'm not too excited about putting one on my trans am, but I'm ganna make sure it doesn't look TOO terrible before I put it on. Also, I'm not using a magnetic bar cuz I havn't found a magnet to stick to fiberglass yet . I'm also putting clear corners on it, and strobing the fog lights, clear corners, back up lights, and tail lights. I hope it looks good. Ill post pics, but it'll be awhile. Thanks again.

Re: F-bodies with light bars...

Also, I'm not having a problem finding a bar for any f-body, the problem is that I have t-tops. I forgot to mention that, and I'm trying to find a light that will fit on the bar going across, behind the t-tops...I might just have to order one and put it on, and see if it looks completely stupid.

A mini-bar is your best bet to fit behind your t-tops. I've seen mini-bars on Vette's before.

Or you could just get a yellow hardhat and bolt one of those round roof lights to the top and just remove the drivers side t-top when you have to go somewhere, lol.
