Ever installed power windows or locks?
I'm mostly interested in putting in power locks (so i can get an alarm)...But power windows would be a bonus...I was going to buy this kit: http://www.commandocaralarms.com/ite...?ProductID=604
And then I was going to go to a junk yard and get the control panels that go into your door and just try and wire them up...Is this the way I should go about getting power locks? Or is there a better way (and no I don't want to buy new doors and have them painted to match)...

The only catch on the setup you're thinking about is that system doesn't use lock switches. It simply locks whne you slide the door lever to lock or lock/unlock it with the key. By opearting one of the levers, it causes the actuators to activate and lock or unlock the doors. This requires no extra wiring or adding of switchs, and actually works pretty good. You could try to add factory style locks if GM make s a kit for it, which I believe they do. As for trying to get all the parts form the junkyard, this could get a bit tricky becuase the locks interface with the BCM which is a big hassle. I would either go with the kit you mentioned and for get the switches or see if GM has a pwer lock upgrade. More than likely if they do it will add keyless entry too.
