Emblem question

My 95 Z is polo green with red/orange Z28 emblems. I thought those only came on the black cars? Could a polo green be ordered with them or did somebody just paint/replace mine at some point?

I believe all Polo green Camaros came with black emblems.

Kermit's emblems are black. The bow tie on the back is red.

Further than that, all fourth gen Camaros had black emblems. The only colorful emblems on the car were the tri-color nose badge, the red bowtie in the grill, and the bowtie in the back under the left taillight (if your car had it.)

At some point, I believe the black SSes received red outlines to the SS emblems rather than white. It's not something I paid a lot of attention to.

That is true about the SS. I wasn't even thinking about those. All the base V6, RS, and Z-28 Camaros had solid black emblems, though.

Ya I wasnt sure if it was black cars or just black ss cars that got anything other than black emblems. My Z does have all three, after a close inspection it does seem they were painted and the bowtie was red already like 99% of the others I've seen. Looks good though, keeping them this color even when I do get a chance to repaint the car.

My car doesn't have a red bowtie and shows no evidence that it ever did.

All Z28 emblems were black, but it's extremely common to see red ones on black cars, just like it's extremely common to see black bowties on the front of 2010 Camaros right now. They didn't come from the factory like that, but there was obviously somewhere to get them.

I don't know what year it started (but could find out I'm sure), but black SS Camaros did receive red outlines on their SS emblems.

All bowties on the back of the cars were red.

The only major questionable emblem thing I've seen in all these years is the bowtie on the front of the '93-'97 cars. Most of them were red. However, this car was claimed to be completely stock with 24,000 miles, and it's not the first one I've seen with a yellow emblem:

I think it might be possible that the bowtie for the front was replaced, and perhaps the replacement was cast out of a yellow plastic. I really haven't researched it... and it's been so many years since I've removed the license plate bracket on our Z28, that I don't remember if it's red plastic, or red paint on yellow plastic...

The bowtie on the rear of the purple car is red, for those wondering.

I think it started as early as the first year of the SS ('96) I did some searching have come up with quite a few stock looking examples of 96's with red outline letting.
