Emblem mounting

I have an emblem I have to mount on my GTP. Any suggestions what I should use to mount it with (tape, glue)?

Shoe Goo

You can get it at Wal-Mart in the shoe department. Works great!

Re: Emblem mounting

I used 3M emblem tape from Sears and that stuff works great.

Hot glue gun? If you screw up you can just scratch off the extra.

GOOP... I've used it for years and never had a problem with anything coming loose... I glued on one of my Z28 emblems with it 2 years ago and it's still on.

Shoe Goo is similar in that if you want to remove the emblem you just peel it off and then peel off the Shoe Goo! It is a bit stronger than hot glue as well. I've used hot glue for a lot of things but I prefer Shoe Goo for emblems

Re: Emblem mounting

I have a similar question...I picked up a set of fender emblems from a '69 and was wondering what's the best way to mount those in place of the stock ones. Would I be best served by grinding off the pins and mounting them with adhesive? I' really don't want to drill mounting holes in my fenders if I don't have to.

Re: Emblem mounting

Drew,
To answer your question. I am in the process of doing the same thing. I used a dremel to grind off the pins on the back. Since the emblem is holow i used a 2 part epoxy syringe to fill the voids, I purposly over filled it. After the epoxy cured, i used the dremel again to gring it level with the sides of the emblem. This left me with a level surface that was ettched enogh for either emblem tape or goo adhesive to stick well to.
I hope this helps a little.
