ebay ss hood..

Hey guys, I found this link on ebay...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33646

I am looking to buy an SS hood, does this seem to be a quality item? or is it some knock off, they claim they make it and all, and the feedback looks pretty good, what do you guys think?

I bought a FFI SS hood, and I was pleased with it. I got it for $325 + shipping.

that looks like a 93-97 SS style scoop on a 98+ hood, something about it doesn't look good.....IMHO !

compare it to this one! factory GM SS hood

Wow that's amazing.

I think FFI really ****ed up their 98-02 hood... never noticed that before.

Their 93-97 one is right on though.

I have a 98 and I got the SS hood from the same people. It is a little bigger than the stock SS hood but I think it looks alot better like that It stands out better and quality is good.

Am I the only one that caught that they say this hood is "non-functional"? I don't have the air box for my ram air hood because I had an FIPK first. I like having the ability to make it functional if I want to.

Yeah, those pics look totally diff. I think they actually used a 96-97 real SS hood, to make their LT1 mold, but didn't have a 98+ hood to make a newer style hood mold. Most likely they just pulled a scoop off of one of their Lt1 hoods, and mated it to a 98 hood, then made a mold....?

I remember a long time ago, someone on the board actually loaned them their real ss hood, to have them make a mold, I could be mistaken though.

Anyway, I bought one of their LT1 SS hoods, but have not receieved it. The lady on the phone told me I could make it functional. I think she said you must cut some of the underside of the hood.

I will let you guys know all about this hood in a few weeks. I just ordered one from FFI. Personally I like their hood more because it is way more aggressive. You can see it from all angles and it just looks meaner. If you ever see a 96-97 SS next to a 98+ ss you will see what I mean. The 98+ scoop seems to "dissappear" from the side. Plus you can't beat $400 for a quality hood.
