Driverside lower front fender sticking out due to improper lifting.
Driverside lower front fender sticking out due to improper lifting.
The car was lifted improperly on the fender tab BEHIND the lifting point. Now on driverside, the lower front Fender has been pushed out far enough to stick your hand in it where it meets the door.... Is there anyway I can fix this or does it need to see a body shop?
u can grad a rubber mallet and bang the lower part of the fender....J/K check to see if there is still a piece of metal sticking down where the lower fender is bolted to. they are usally just bent and need to be straighten that should pull the fender in a fix the problem
Chances are they broke the bottom plastic tab off the fender, this is how I
fixed mine during my 93 to 98 conversion :

Its a piece of aluminum channel, was in the scrap bin at my work. They got it
through a metal dealer, but I would guess you could find some at Osh, Home
Depot, or Ace Hardware. The piece is cut to the same length as the metal on
the body. The channel was the same length (roughly 1.5") on each flat off
the 90 degree, but I cut the one side down to the same length as the metal
on the body. I used a non broken fender as a guide to figure out where to
put the holes with the channel on the outside. The fender holes were the last
drilled, and were marked with the aluminum bracket bolted to the car, and the
fender lined up in place. Then I drilled the holes through the fender, and had
to notch the edge of the fender for the hole closest to the wheel, so that a
captured nut clip (pulled off the 93 fender front bottom edge) could be used.
You dont want to just thread into the plastic fender as it will break over time.
EDIT : Oh .. as for the hole locations on the fender, I just made sure they are
in far enough to leave enough material, and not so far that the clip wont fit.
That was why I had to notch one edge, the hole was in too far. The clip on
the rear one you can see in the picture, the clip on the front hole come in
from the inside edge, rather then the wheel well edge.
