So, i am going to be getting my 97' LT1 back, and i plan to buy a new hood in the summer, or upcoming winter. I also plan to redo the whole front end, but i think i will keep it the LT1.

My question is, what kinds of hoods do they offer for the LT1, and the LS1 if i chose to convert the entire front end.

And what is the price range for that, anyone here do this?

Actually, writing this post, i am starting to think i might as well redo the whole front end... any opinions?

 

why get a LT1 just to make it look like a LS1?

They got many different hood designs, 4 different ramair ones for the camaro I think and several more designs as well. They also have many for Fbirds. These are all for LT1s btw...play with the sidebar links and you'll find the LS1 section.

 

Personally, I like the SS hood. I don't like the LS1 front end, compared to the LT1 front end.

I second that SS hood with LT1 front end is MEAN!!!
I think the LS1 front end's look to much like Sebring convertables to me, I still like em, but not as much as LT1 Front End

 

Anyone know where you can get a cowl hood where the cowl goes all the way to the windshield???

 

I'm not much of a fan of the SS hoods, but I like the Ultra-Z hoods from SLP. They flow with the car very well, and they're refined looking, not garish like a few other hoods out there.

I was also a follower of the LT1 front end but over time you grow to appreciate the new front end. I love it now much more than I do the LT1 front ends. I almost didn't buy an LS1 car because of the front end, but now I just can't help but admore how well the lines of the car "flow" so to speak. Not to mention I can see the road 10x better now thanks to the headlight redesign.

 

you cant ignore the look of the LS1 SS front end.. even though i love my lt1 front end i still would swap to the LS1 with SS hood if i ever had to replace it all, but thats just me oh and theres a pic of a harwood hood for the LT1 on my page.

You've gotten some good advice here.

For just plain cool, SS hood (there are a lot of them out there but there's a reason !)

For cool and FUNCTIONAL can't beat the Ultra-Z hood.

Finally, if you want a COWL for that bad @ss look ONLY GO WITH HARWOOD!!! Their design is a great MODERN design for a MODERN car.

STAY WITH YOUR LT1 FRONT-END!!!!

If I ever need to replace my front I would probably change my LS1 to a LT1 front end.

I like the LT1 LOOK much better, but had to have the LS1 engine.

Having an LT1 engine with a LS1 front-end is the WORST of both worlds in MY opinion.

That looks sweet man! I myself cant decide between that hood or a SS hood. Your pictures have me leaning towards the cowl design now!
