Did the headlight conversion lastnight
Hi, I did the headlight conversion like everyone else. I just wanted to say the I bought a full set (4 Bulbs) on Ebay for 19 buck. Go to http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...403272811&rd=1 to see them. They worked and the sealed beam conversion was not as hard as I thought it would be.
Hi, no pic yet. I don't have a digital camera so I have to take Poloriods and scan them in.
The conversion was easier than I thought it would be. I did it in the middle of the night in the rain. What you do it take out the stock headlight remove the bulb from the housing.
The stock headlight is glued to the housing from the factor so removing it can be tuff. It is also under a slight vacume. I put tape around the before I tried to remove it, so it I broke it it would not shater.
You can pry the bulb from the housing with a flat screwdriver, place a cloth under the screwdriver to prevent breaking the glass housing. Slowly pry around until it starts to come apart, you will hear a little puff as the pressure is released.
Once you get the old bulb out everything else is cake. Glue the new bulb in with RTV selent and tape the bulb to the housing while the selent sets up. Then put the housing with the new bulb back into you car and you are set.
The lights look a lot better than the factory lights.
I hope this helps.

do you like the "conversion?" I did it to my car and it looks cool with the blue color but the quality is very bad. I can't see anything with them. Even wose than stock. Not the mention they aren't DOT approved.
Here is a guide to the conversion for those interested...Very excellent guide...
This is more like a modification than a "conversion." You will never get a really good output with it. But I will say, I achieved a better than stock lighting output, but it wasn't with any of the highly tinted bulbs (blue, purple, etc.) The best output you are going to get with this setup is the Sylvania Silverstars. The bulbs you bought witchcraft are probably a simlar type bulb. The next upgrade is better housings.

Hi, I am from barbourville Ky.
I like the way my lights looked and I could see much better. Of course you are not going to get the same results as the real HID conversion setup which is like $500+
for 19.99. But seeing how it cost 20 bucks and takes about an hour or so to install I think it is worth it.

Anyone have any before after pics of the Silverstars?

I recently got the Sylvania Silverstar bulbs and did all 4 (cost around $100). It took about an hour and a half of work, very easy to do, and you do get a noticeable sight distance improvement, although it ain't gonna be like HID, but the lights are very white so now my fog lights look dull and yellow.....time to upgrade those too. It is worth the $ in my opinion to be able to see farther.
Which bulb
I used 9006 for the highs and 9005 for the low. I have heard that it is better and brighter to use the 9006 for both, because the 9006 are 100w and 9005 are only 80w. I did mine this way because I bought the lights as a set and this is how they came.
