decide for me - hid headlights or not?

basically, i cant see well at all out of my stock headlight setup. Also being new to the F-body community i have read alot of the threads about the pros and cons of hid's and i still cant decide. i dont want to be that guy blinding everybody, but i would like to see more than 3 dashed lines infront of me (especially for deer, ive had 3 run ins with deer in a year, no damage thank god)

So, im looking to spend 100$ or so and just looking for some imput. Also I would like to keep the lights the same color, Highs lows fogs and running lights, i think it would look bad with the stock yellow-ish look on half and blue/white look of some other sort of light.

thx

If you keep them the same color i don't see a problem. If they turn out to be too bright you can always point them down some but in the end your still going to blind people.

youll be blinding people, and since the light wont be focused as well, you might not actually get any more light on the road where you need it. if you put a set of projectors in, then you can get lots of light. like this...what id do is make sure the lenses are clean and polished, and put a new set of quality bulbs in.

if the lenses are new, theyre probably not the issue. better bulbs would be great, but depending on how old yours are, even new cheap bulbs could be a noticeable improvement. the lt1 style headlights are notorious for having bad light output, but yours sounds even worse. this is obvious, but in case you forgot, did you check the aim of the headlights? they could just be aimed down. good luck

If you didn't mind the warm-up time, a set of HID's in the high beams would be likely more light than you would ever expect would be possible.

I was sick of the stock headlights, which is why I swapped out housings to run projectors- even cheap ebay housings are better than the stock headlights.

If I had the time/desire, I would love to swap a set of quality projectors in the car and see how much of a difference they would make- but life has a way of changing your priorities as you get older.

it might not be that hard. i know i had to take my ebay headlights apart to fix the beam pattern, and the projector wasnt molded in or anything. if i had had more money at the time, i would have bought a set of quality projectors to put in there. wouldnt have taken a significant amount of time over what i had to do anyway.
