daytime running lights

First of all i would like to say, I have found and read the install guide on bfranker's site and that is really not what i want to do.

I want to have the 97+ daytime running lights on my 1996 SS. I do NOT want to install a secondary switch to control anything.

I'd like to make it just as a 1997 and up would be. 1 year and a new interior couldnt have changed that much that i cant do a true swap for all origonal parts.

does anyone know what all i would need to buy or do to get them to be exactly like my 1997?

thanks

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone have a write up for adding DRL's to the front parking lights like the 97+? I have been searching around and all that I can find are complaints about the DRL's and instructions for removing them. I would like to add them and am hoping that someone has already done this and can quickly explain. I know that adding DRL's to the front parking lights is as simple as a relay to turn on the parking lights but I would like them to function as the factory DRL's do, minus the auto headlights. I would like for them to come on when the ebrake is down, but go off when the headlights are turned on. This will likely include a series of relays, which is why I am hopeful that someone has already worked the details out. Any help would be appreciated!

I got to this company off BFranker's site- hopefully nobody minds...

http://www.webelectricproducts.com/products.htm

If you check out their products they have DRL kits there, one for a corvette actually. You might be able to modify it to work with your car.

I'm not an electrician so I'm not so good with the wiring/relay configuration you would need.
