Re: daylight interior pics!

It took a lot of work and sanding to get the spray painted silver off the pieces! But here are the steps I used after I got the paint off!
*Sand with 240 grit
*Wetsand with 400grit
*Coat of sandable primer
*Wetsand with 400
*Wetsand with 600
*Another coat of primer
*Drysand lightly with 400
*Wetsand with 600
*Sprayed 3 coats of silver basecoat with spraygun
*Lightly sanded it with 800 grit then 1000.
*Sprayed one last coat basecoat.
*Sprayed a coat of Anodized Smoke Silver with spraygun
*Sprayed with 3 coats of clear with spraygun.
*Let dry
*Replace

Re: daylight interior pics!

Why did you paint them remove paint from the trim pieces? I think the silver looks good.

The silver paint was fading, chipping, and it stained easily! It is almost the same exact silver, just in certain lighting its got a smoky color to it! I wanted to do something different. Now with a clearcoat too I can wax it and keep it look good for a lot longer than the spraypaint crap did!

Re: daylight interior pics!

I used PPG Silver and Smoke Metallic as the final coat before I sprayed the clear!
