Dash Trim Question
Hi All-
I just bought a 2002 SS and there are a few "upgrades" from a previous owner that I want to undo. One of my first tasks is to get rid of the faded white switch panels in the picture. I noticed that the ASR and for light switches are in strange places from my previous car. Anybody have any idea what year this dash might be? I have taillights from a '97 as well. Those are next to go.

Re: Dash Trim Question
The whole trim panel with the switches and air vents just pops off. The swtiches and the "Camaro" trim just pop out. Move the Camaro over to the far right and then then switch on the far right will go back in the spot that will be opened up after you move the Camaro.
The switches for the ventilation system just pull off too and then you should be able to peel the white overlay off...however, I would be concerned that the factory markings behind the overlay might come off when you peel the white off...

Re: Dash Trim Question
BandDirector- thank you for the help with the trim. I know it was just an aesthetic thing but it was bugging the heck out of me having the switches in the wrong place. The factory marks didn't come off when I took off the white overlay and a little goo gone took care of the sticky stuff left behind.
SuperSportSS- I verified the WU8 and Y2Y codes on the door sticker. I know the 35th Anniversary badge on my dash was stolen from my old car, and I'll be replacing this one soon.

Re: Dash Trim Question
Glad I could help!
The next thing I'd do is get rid of the horrible radio install kit. I'd either go back to the stock radio, or find a 1.5 DIN Alpine or Pioneer headunit, or find a flush kit to mount that radio in...I never could stand the way some of the generic install kits made the radio stick out of the dash like that...
