"Cool blue" headlights = rice?

I came across a set of "cool blue" headlights for 4th gen Firebirds at AutoZone last week for $13 each. Does anyone have these or seen these? Comments?

I have blue headlights in my car. High beam, low beam, and fog lights. I got them off ebay and they are pretty nice. A lot of people flash their high beams at me at night though. During the day with the lights off you can see the blue reflection from them. I think they're alright for the most part.

Alright, here's the deal.....if your headlights are blue, I will not flash my headlights at you. If your headlights are shining upwards into my eyes, I will flash my headlights at you. It just so happens that ricers think that it's cool to show off their blue headlights by ALSO shining them upwards at other people on purpose. Anyway, blue headlights by themselves are not particularly rice IMO, but I generally see them on imports mostly....

And the color doesn't look as cheap.

Re: "Cool blue" headlights = rice?

1) Sylvania Silverstars are JUNK do a search.

2) 90% of Cool Blue headlights are not only JUNK, but also dangerous

3) ANY tinted bulb, in order to be safe should have a wattage higher than stock. Go with 80w-100w bulbs. You cannot usually find these in stores.

4) Aim your headlights properly

5) Brands I recommend:
FX 100w 5000k
Nokya 80w 4300k
Nokya Stage II
Ichibahn 100w
Ichibahn 130w
Showoff Krypton 100w

P12, I have no idea how much any of those bulbs you listed are, but I am guessing that they might be a little pricey.
Negatory. They are cheaper and FAR more effective than silverstars if you know where to look. I repeat.. silverstars are junk, and I'm surprised they are legal. I'm warning people for the record.

What exactly is junk about the silverstars and how could they be illegal? Just wondering cause I've had mine for about 6 months with no problem.

Yeah I was going to buy silverstars for my car. Where do we look to find these "higher quality" bulbs for cheaper?

Thanks

Re: "Cool blue" headlights = rice?

My brother's blues looked almost green and not bright at all, and the silver stars looked like his stock bulbs but burned out alot quicker (no, he didn't use his bare hands to install it either). I vote go with stock, but since that has nothing to do with the thread title, no, blue isn't rice in my book.

Whatever you do, avoid EuroDesigns, APC, and Streetglow bulbs.

Also do a search

I didn't adjust mine upward at all when I put them in, they are the same place the stock ones were. I'd rather see the road than to try to purposely blind someone. Ricers shine theirs upwards on purpose because they are usually BEHIND Fbodys where they belong and they don't like that.

My wife's car has had the Silverstars in it since 2 days after we bought it - they are excellent. The stock bulbs in them weren't safe at all - and you could honestly barely see with them. The Silverstars fixed that problem.
