Convertible to hardtop?

Okay, so I might pick up this 95 z28 convertible, but for some reason, i am REALLY not diggin the convertible look. Is it possible to put a hardtop on this car for under thousands of dollars?

Re: Convertible to hardtop?

I cant see how for under a few thousands, so no point in buying it, might as well just look for a hard top car.

I've seen hard tops for cars like the miata going for $1500 or so. I don't think you'll find any for the camaro though.

Re: Convertible to hardtop?

Dont do it. You pay more for a convertible and put more money into it making it a hardtop

Re: Convertible to hardtop?

Well see the thing is, I live out in an area where there are never any nice f-bodies for sale. This Z is super cheap because it has a salvage title, because thats how the dealer works. He buys totalled cars, fixes them up, and turns them around. I know him personally, so I know he's straight, and not a crook. I guess it's an even better deal if I just leave it as is.

Re: Convertible to hardtop?

1) Where is the location we're talking about?
2) Cheap or not, honest salesman (snicker) or not, salvage titles are always a bad idea (IMO).
3) Wait for what you want. Don't sacrifice, and end up kicking yourself for "x" number of years.

Re: Convertible to hardtop?

ACTUALLY....I would really like to do a hardtop conversion. That would be a really nice challenge. I like to do a lot of "chopping", when it comes to choppin a roof off and taking out a 4 inch section and puttin it back on.....me and my buddy are diffinitely the right people for the job.

But its going to be a lot of money....just for labor. Of course parts will be more exspensive, but itsgoing to be A LOT of work and down time on the car.
