I have a 94 z28 and my center console is kinda rough. Would a 98-02 six speed console fit in my car? It's a six speed by the way. Anything that i should look out for?

 

Yes, it will work perfectly. The only modification you will need to do is either drill a hole through one of the metal braces so a peg that the 98+ consoles have can go into (and thus make the console more rigid) or you can cut the peg off the console (and thus making it a little more wobbly) I upgraded my 94 to a 2000.

If you run a quick search youll see all the info youll ever want to know on the subject. After I searched, asked, searched I decided to go on the hunt to replace my entire interior. If you think about it, our interior is over 10 years old. Nows a good time more than any to upgrade.

 

Just realize though, that the new console won't line up perfectly. There will be a gap between the dash and the center console. Some people fabricate something to "fill" the gap, while other's just deal with it.

 

No, it wont work. People have tried the swap and failed, you won't find any info on this site.

 

I have no experience changing out consoles, but I replaced just the face plate on mine that covers the astray, cigarette lighter, ect...It came with a new cigarette lighter. But, the cigarette lighter connector can be different on different models. Just don't get freaked out if you have to change out some connectors. No biggie.

haha yeah what does that have to do with upgrading the center console to something better?

 

Guess it helps if you want to run your fans, open your bottle, arm your nitrous turn your warmer on and check your pressure.
