Post Colored DRLs?

Has anyone ever changed the color of their DRLs? I am looking at a Black/Blue scheme like this:

And am wondering if I can change the color of the DRLs to blue?

I'm sure you could. The lenses are clear on those cars, so a colored bulb would be easy. The only problem would be that with blue, you will be attracting cops. Also, the DRLs will double as your turnsignals, so you will also have blue turnsignals. Do what you want, but I prefer to keep my car legal.

How is it illegal? They would be just as bright as before and no functionality will be lost by changing colors. ??

Depends on local laws, in a lot of areas blue or red lights in the front of a car constitute "impersonating an emergency vehicle" which is a big fine, trust me I know. =)

yeah, i've never heard of anyplace where blue and red weren't illegal. but then again, it's only against the law if you get caught.

Blue and red on the front are reserved for emergency response vehicles. Just be prepared for a fat ticket if you get busted.

I see a lot of ricers with the blue lights on the hood where the windshield sprayers go.

If there's enough room in the back of those lights you could mount a color bulb along side your regular bulb. Just drill a whole and glue the bulb in place. Then just wire it up to a switch so you can use it when your not moving. Then it's perfectly legal.
