color code for polo green?
color code for polo green?
i have a 96 Z28, its dark green, was polo green the only darker green offered in 1996? would anyone have a paint code or something? i dont have an RPO code sticker on the car, so im lost.
thanks
thanks
There were two other "greens" or "green blues" for 1996 too: code 37 Bright Teal Metallic ( 3,912 units) and Mystic Teal Metallic code 79 (extremely rare, only 637 units). Without seeing your car, you probably have Polo Green Code 48.
For model year 1996, GM made 44,003 Camaros with automatic transmissions, which was RPO code MX0, retail price $790.00.
Total Camaro production for 1996 was 61,362.
(FYI, a great book to pick up is Camaro White Book, by Mike Antonick. It has all the production codes, production numbers, options, etc for all models of Camaro 1967-2002)
If any other owners want to know the numbers, option codes etc for their model year, feel free to ask, I'm happy to look it up in the book!

I'm 100% sure it is code 48, according to the Camaro White Book. GM uses two digit codes for its paint (for example, my Firehawk is code 41 - Black). According to the book, the only time GM used letter codes for paint on Camaros was in 1967 & 1968. If your Camaro is a 1996, and its green, its wearing code 48 paint. Somebody at the body shop is misinformed. Also, check your door label or the one inside your glove box (the location seems to vary according to year). The label that is called "service parts identification" will have a code for paint color listed on it.
