Cleaning interior panels What to use?
I'm trying to clean my interior panels they have dirt in the grain.
I can't seam to clean the too well.
What can I use to clean them?
I was cleaning my leather seats too and was wondering if the whole seat was
leather or just the middle inserts?
Thanks,
Chris G.

Re: Cleaning interior panels What to use?
For the interior panels I've used windex (the window cleaner). You can use a toothbrush to get into the crevices.
For the seats I use murphy's oil soap - diluted.
I then treat the leather with Lexol.

Re: Cleaning interior panels What to use?
Try and find a good vynel cleaner, or use a diluted degreaser (thats water based) usually its about 4 parts water to 1 part solution (depends on what you use). Use a sponge to clean it with and a toothbrush to get in the tight spaces.
Re: Cleaning interior panels What to use?
303 Aerospace cleaner and Aerospace Protectant (two seperate products) would be an excellent, easy, and long lasting solution for both of your problems. Just make sure to dilute the cleaner with water for the leather, as mentioned on the label. Using a microfiber cloth would help as well with the final details.
And to answer your question, all modern day leather is realistically leather with a dyed vinyl topcoat. So you aren't really even sitting on leather... you're sitting on top of a thin layer of vinyl dye with a thin layer of natural leather underneath. It's still possible to condition it if it's in bad shape, but you need to use something like leatherique and let it soak in, especially at the seems, for a day or two.
Do a search in the "show and shine" forum for plenty more info - that's really where this should have been posted anyhow.
Or you can go all out and start reading around autopia.org
