Choppin my console.
Choppin my console.
I have installed a B&M Pro Stick in my 94Z and am in the process of installing new carpet. Getting the stock console to work with after market shifters is a pain so I am going to try something different.
I have taken the cig lighter/tape holder part of the console off and plan on reinstalling it in the stock location and then taking the rest of the console and cutting the shifter portion out of it. I will then reinstall the cupholder/storage portion of the console back in the car. Not sure how its going to look but I am excited to see how it turns out. It will be different thats for sure.
What do you guys think? I know most of you won,t like the idea but its got me intrigued as to how it would look.
I had decided to leave the console out of the car entirely so its no big deal if this does not work.

Re: Choppin my console.
Yea, I think that it could turn out cool!
Maybe you could cut out the part that you don't want, sand the whole thing down, and use fiberglass to finish off the end that was cut out. Then paint the finished product or re-wrap the whole thing in leather or something like that.

Re: Choppin my console.
Yeah you will need to fiberglass it or something, I deleted the Ebrake when I installed the shifter and now that I have cut the console the Ebrake hole is the only thing keeping it from looking decent.
Filling in the front space with fiberglass would make it look alot better.
I am thinking of going with the turbo action command center and if I do that I will take out the chopped console.
