Cheap Interior Door Panel Mod
You should submit that one to www.projecttransam.com. Very good write up!
awesome job dude!
this is something i might try to do. i'm particularly interested in the fabric replacements so that now it will last the life of the car. i'm not into the vinyl paintin myself n e more after doing it on previous cars. always seems to chip or wear away after time adn it can get expensive. a friend of mine did about 80% of the interior of his ford probe last summer (silver with blue highlights), and dont get me wrong, it looks good, but he spent over $500 in paint.
once agian though, nice job

Very good write-up and very good install. You should be proud of that cause it made a huge difference from stock. I did actually did the same thing to my door panels in my 86 Z28 last year except I took some from a 88' trans=am covered the fabric in vinyl and dyed the whole thing, then accented all the trim pieces in Candy blue. It looks like the panels in my 2000 Camaro are going to be alot easier. I found a site that sells nice vinyl for a even nicer price $12 a yard and they have different types of vinyl too. It's www.selectproducts.com plus they sell everything you need to build any audio set-up and CARBON FIBER sheets. Since i printed your write-up I ordered 2 yards of Arctic white 5 minutes ago from them lol and plan to go back cause I forgot to buy some epoxy for the carbon fiber (hint-hint, I'm doing it from scratch!!)
Mark- Ya know I used the same dupli-color vinyl dye on 95% of my interior changes, but I have'nt driven the car much lately so i have'nt come across any wear (except the armrests, telltale sign lol). So thanks for the heads up on the other paint, I'll try it when I can. I feel kinda guilty cause i remember telling you to buy the stuff in the first place. But with "trial and error" nothing is for certain. Now you got me worried about how it's gonna hold up, like I said 95% OF MY INTERIOR!!
If I do my panels soon I'll come back and post em up on a new thread or sum.
