changing from power windows to manual
Re: changing from power windows to manual
If OP is going on big diet then 4lbs in addition to alot of other small subtractions adds up, so i dont think it would be a waste of time at all. Also, the benefits of a manual window is u dont need to fu#& around with the bs of slow motors, replacing motors, ect with the power units. I wouldnt mind having manual windows myself, i have shaved a ton of weight off the car due to a number of small things that add up in the end.

Re: changing from power windows to manual
have not weighed them but there is alot more stuff in the mechanical window...if I thought it was worth the weight reduction I would have done it. the only benefit I see is that you do not have to worry with motors again.....
Re: changing from power windows to manual
I have a hard time believing all the components in the power units not weighing more than the manual but, then again i have never compared them personally off of this car. Apparently Shon has so, if he says it isnt worth it then im inclined to believe it
OP im interested in hearing whether or not u just assumed they weighed more (like me) or you saw/heard somewhere there was a reasonable weight difference. IMO 6-9 lbs would be worth it if u were on a serious quest for weight savings but it appears that just isnt the case with the Z.

Re: changing from power windows to manual
This site, supposedly based on GM shipping weights, indicates that the power window option added 2.7 pounds.
