Center console swap

Hey, I know this topic has probably been discussed but I need a few questions answered if you don't mind. I'm pulling the console out of my 94 Firebird and replacing it with one from a 2000 TA. My questions are: Does it fit perfectly in with no modification? If it needs modification, what needs to be done in order to get it in? Also, what do I do with the second gear start button? Is there anywhere I can mount it on the new console? Please reply soon, my car has no console in it at the moment and the new one should arrive in a few days. Thanks

Re: Center console swap

I swapped mine out for a 98 cosole a while back. I had to cut this little dong off of it, it was under the shifter plate towards the back where the screw goes. Other than that, fits perfectly with no modifications.
As far as the switch, I don't have it so I really can't help with that one.

Re: Center console swap

Swapped my 94 Camaro console out for a 97+ console, only modification was drilling a hole to accomidate a pin that helps with stability of the console. I'm pretty sure, if I remember correctly atleast, Brent's web site has a guide..

Sorta bringing this thread from the dead. But I have done the swap as well, all you have to do to take care of that gap is put some filler (i just used cotton) under the carpet.

I did that a while back using thin layers of carpet padding to even it out so it wasnt all lumpy...my main issue with the fitment was the shifter an ebrake not having enough room to move with ...with the custom bracket i made though i was able to shift it up an realign it nicely so after that there wasnt a fitment issue jus the carpet which was easily resolved. but im going to state for the billionth time...if anyone knows someone who will mass produce plastic or fiberglass pieces let me know, i made a gap filler for the console to dash gap...and also a 3 gauge a pillar for the 93-96 camaros but time an money wise its not worth it for me to make them myself so if you know someone...speak up
