carpet wear

Hey guys, I was cleaning out my 02 firehawk and noticed the carpet directly to the right of the gas pedal on the center hump is wearing right through. I only have driven this baby for 5,000 kilos (3,000 miles) . I very much doubt warranty will cover this damage so I guess I'll have to patch it up myself. Has anyone else experienced the same problem on their newer f-body.

You must be wearing some crazy shoes.

But, seeing that the car is still under warranty...It should be fixed by the dealership. Carpet should hold up for the life of the car...

I dont think the waranty will cover a worn spot in the carpet due to driving the car. Its not like it went bad over time by itself. Do you always rest your foot on this spot?

If your foot is a little over to the right, you're rubbing your shoe (nike's runners), on the center hump and that is where it is wearing through. I never noticed until I vacuumed around that area. The car is an 02 that's only 6 months old.

My 02 SS is wearing through in the same spot. It only happens on my manual car, my 94 is an auto and its not a problem, its from lifting the throttle during constant shifts. At least in my car.
