Carbon Fiber hoods?
Carbon Fiber hoods?
The only carbon fiber hood i have found for 93-97s is the dg motorsports one here.
http://www.dgmotorsports.com/details...&ProcessType=1
are there any other cf hoods that are like the SS style ? anyone have pics? $1000 doesnt sound that bad especially if it fits up perfect and is a great quality, like DG motorsports "prides" itself on. thanks

Re: Carbon Fiber hoods?
thanks for the reply, however I didnt want this thread to be switched around to why i should get a fiberglass hood, (which is in fact what i am set on getting now) i just wanted to explore my options with cf.
thanks
thanks
Re: Carbon Fiber hoods?
I believe VFN is able to do carbon fiber hoods. Personally, if I had the extra cash flow to afford it, I'd do carbon fiber for the looks, not for the weight savings. I'll be honest, I love the look of carbon fiber, and nothing would be more sexy than TRUE carbon fiber stripes with the rest of the hood matching the body color.

i wish i had the cash to buy a rk sport roadster hatch or whatever its called with the rear removable window, i wish i could see what that one looks like on a car w/o ground effects and a huge wing. (that in cf would be pretty nice as well
)
Re: Carbon Fiber hoods?
its called a sportsback and i have it on mine......i dont have ground effects but i dont have a wing....i will post pics in 2 weeks.... the sportsback looks awesome.... is lighter...and gives some downforce....but the downsides r it is wayyy expensive and it gives u horrible blind spots....ACCIDENTS BEWARE!!!
Re: Carbon Fiber hoods?
yeah if you could post pics that would be great man, did u tint the glass at all? and when you said "...i dont have ground effects but i dont have a wing...." did u mean you have a wing? thanks
Re: Carbon Fiber hoods?
VFN can do any of their fiberglass parts in carbon fiber. It knocks off roughly half the weight and is approximately 225% mark-up over fiberglass. For instance, a pin-on flat hood that weighs 12#s and costs $260, would weigh about 6#s and would cost $585. They come gelcoated, so if you want them for looks, go back to the RKSport junk. If you want something that actually serves a purpose, then VFN is the way to go.
